Hello, my friends!
This Summer Ashley has been on full-time staff with our ministry. She has done a fantastic job of driving me around Atlanta (can you imagine learning to drive on the 285 loop?) while I talked on the phone. She's typed up reams of material and helped me stay organized. She also went out into the field with the teams and helped them round up kids, taught the teams how to do balloon animals and encouraged the volunteers. I am gong to miss her SO much when she heads back to school. The following in an article she wrote for this Update.
The last few days of this month have been really hard on me. Recently my year long boyfriend and I broke up. I would wake up early in the morning and cry because I'd not only lost my boyfriend but my best friend. I would ask myself, "Who's going to comfort me and talk to me late at night? Who's going to encourage me to keep working when I feel like giving up?"
The next night I got my Daddy's Bible and decided where ever it flipped open to was the place meant for me to read. The words I read seemed to be written just for me and my situation. Psalm 16:1-11 "Save me, O God, because I have come to you for refuge. I said to him, You are my Lord; I have no other help but yours. I want the only the company of godly men." God has let me experience the joys of life and the exquisite pleasures of his eternal presence.
After reading this, it felt like God truly opened my ears and eyes to Him. I had the feeling of His presence around me and goose bumps rise on my arms thinking about that moment now. I thought nothing good would come from my broken relationship but it has strengthened my relationship with God.
Please pray that God will continue to show himself in my life and that one day he will send me out around the world to tell all people everywhere the great things He's has done for them so that they too, will believe and obey Him.
